Location of the heart Lies in the mediastinum, behind the body of the sternum between the points of attachment of ribs 2 through 6; approximately two thirds of its mass is to the left of the midline of the body, and one third is to the right
Function of the Lymphatic system maintain fluid balance in the internal envi-ronment and immunity; a third function is to collect absorbed fat from the intestines and transport it to the systemic veins
Agents of the immune system are blood cells, skin cells, mucosal cells, brain cells, liver cells, and other types of cells and their secretions
What two glands make up the Pituitary gland Made up of two separate glands, the adenohypophysis (anterior pituitary gland) and the neurohypophysis (posterior pituitary gland)
