QuestionAnswer
Legend Noun The legend of Johnny Appleseed is based on the life of a man named John Chapman. A story that is handed down from the past that is often based on fact, but is not completely true.
Glitter Verb The crystal goblets are so clean that they glitter in the candlelight. To shine and sparkle.
Drenched Adjective We got drenched when we were caught out in the rain without an umbrella. Soaked or completely wet.
Absorb Verb I read the instructions twice in order to absorb the information about how to absorb the paint I spilled on the rug. To take in information. To soak up liquid.
Amuse Verb The playful monkeys always amuse the visitors at the zoo. To make someone laugh or smile.
Weary Adjective Mom was weary after driving for almost three days to get to Grandma’s house. Tired and exhausted.
Baffled Adjective I was baffled by the complicated directions for assembling my new model car. Confused or puzzled. Synonym: perplexed
Marionette Noun The puppeteer was so skilled in moving the marionette that the puppet almost seemed real. A puppet that is moved by pulling strings or wires attached to parts of its body.
