Describe function of lymphatic system ? drainage and transport network for interstitial fluids, fats and immune cells.
What is Lymph Fluid? Plasma-derived interstitial fluid returned to circulation after entering the lymphatic capillaries. it contains protein, lipids , immune cells and sometimes pathogens and debris
Mnemonic for antibody function NOCAA - Neutralization, Opsonization, Complement activation and Agglutination/precipitation
What is the role of B cells ? They produce antibodies, and antigen presentation
Explain gas exchange in the lungs? Oxygen from inhaled air moves from the alveoli into the bloodstream, while carbon dioxide moves from the blood into the alveoli to be exhaled.
Explain in simple terms Tidal Volume Air you breath in or out during a normal breath.
Explain Dalton's Law ? Each gas (O2, CO2) in the air has its own partial pressure. gasses always move from high pressure to low pressure.
Explain Bohr Effect Its gas exchange in the tissue, when 02 leaves blood it enters cells, CO2 leaves cells and enter blood. This happens because pressure push gases where it's needed.
Explain Haldane Effect? When hemoglobin lets go of Oxygen, it can pick up more CO2. This helps carry CO2 back to the lungs.
What are some digestive enzymes? Amylase, Lipase, pepsin and Trypsin
Which blood disorder is caused by Rh Incompatibility? Erythroblastosis Fetalis
What is Cholecystokinin ? Hormone that releases bile and pancreatic enzymes in response to fat.
