inheritance process of passing genetic information to offspring.
Genes Short section of DNA, located on chromosome, that codes for proteins (traits).
chromosomes are made of coiled up DNA; made of numerous genes.
DNA carry heredity information; made of small sections of genes.

meiosis creates four sex cells with half the number of chromosomes present in parent cells .
