lymph A clear watery fluid is part of the body's immune system and is formed from blood plasma that leaks out capillaries
intentional fluid the liquid that fills the spaces between cells in the body, acting as a medium for transporting nutrients, oxygen, and hormones to cells, and for removing waste products
lymphatic vessels a network of thin tubes throughout the body that collect a fluid called lymph from tissues and return it to the bloodstream
lacteals the lymphatic vessels of the small intestine which absorbs digested fats.
lymphangiogram a rare, non-cancerous, and benign tumor that is malformation of the lymphatic system, consisting of dilated lymphatic vessels
superficial cervical lymph nodes in the neck along the stemocleidomastorid muscle,"these nodes drain lymph from the head and neck
preauricular lymph nodes located just in front of the ear; these nodes drain the superficiall tissues and skin on the lateral side of the head and face.
axillary lymph nodes 20 to 30 large nodes clustered deep within the underarm and upper chest regions; lymph from the arm and upper part of thoracic wall, including the breast, drains through these nodes
Iliac lymph nodes and inguinal lymph nodes in the pelvis and groin; ;lymph from the pelvic organs, legs, and external genitals drain through these nodes.
submental group and submandibular group in the floor of the mouth; lymph from the nose, lips, and teeth drains through these nodes
hematopoiesis the process of creating new blooed cells, which occurs primarily in the bone marrow throughout a person life.
