| Pulmonary Circulation | Blood flow from the heart to the lungs and back. |
| Platelet | A blood cell that helps form clots to stop bleeding. |
| External Respiration | Gas exchange between the lungs and the blood. |
| Residual Volume | The air that stays in the lungs even after forcefully exhaling. |
| Peristalsis | Muscle movements that push food through the digestive tract. |
| Adaptive Immunity | The part of the immune system that learns to recognize specific germs. |
| Isotonic Contraction | A muscle contraction that produces movement, like lifting a weight. |
| Isometric Contraction | A muscle contraction that does not create movement, like holding a plank |
| Hypothalamus | Controls hunger, thirst, temperature, and links the nervous and endocrine systems. |
| Fascia | A thin sheet of connective tissue that surrounds muscles and organs. |
