| next to | (al lado de) very close to something |
| between | (entre) in the middle of two things |
| opposite | (enfrente de) across from something |
| near | (cerca de) close, not far |
| far | (lejos de) a big distance away |
| go straight | (sigue derecho) do not turn; keep going forward |
| pass the… | (pasa el/la…) go by something and keep going |
| turn left | (gira a la izquierda) move to the left |
| turn right | (gira a la derecha) move to the right |
| an intersection | (una intersección) where two streets cross |
| a stop sign | (una señal de alto / pare) a sign that tells cars to stop |
| traffic lights | (semáforos) lights that say stop, go, or slow |
| a pedestrian crossing | (un cruce peatonal) lines where people can walk across the street |
| 1st street | (primera calle) the street with number 1 |
| 2nd avenue | (segunda avenida) the avenue with number 2 |
| 3rd street | (tercera calle) the street with number 3 |
| North | (norte) towards the North Pole, the direction at the top of most maps |
| South | (sur) towards the South Pole, the direction on the bottom of most maps |
