What is the main function of the digestive system? Break down food, absorb nutrients, and eliminate waste.
What is a mechanical digestion? It physically breakdown food (chewing, churning in stomach)
Where does most nutrient absorption occur? small intestine
What is the main function of the large intestine? Absorb water and electrolytes and also form feces.
What are the 2 major division of the respiratory system? Upper respiratory tract, and lower respiratory tract.
what organ contains the vocal cords? larynx which is the voice box
What are lymphatic capillaries? A tiny close-ended vessels that can absorb interstitial fluid
What are lymph nodes? Small, bean-shaped organs that can filter immune cells
What is the myocardium? The thick, muscular middle layer which is are the responsible for the heart contractions.
What are the two main division of the skull? cranial, and facial bones
