| Electrocardiogram (ECG/EKG) | A tracing of the heart’s electrical activity used to detect rhythm problems. |
| Vasoconstriction | Narrowing of blood vessels that increases resistance and raises blood pressure. |
| Lymphatic Capillaries | Tiny vessels that absorb excess tissue fluid and begin lymph transport. |
| Respiratory Center | Brainstem structures (medulla and pons) that regulate the rhythm and depth of breathing. |
| Electrolyte | A charged particle (ion) in body fluids essential for nerve signaling, muscle contraction, and fluid balance. |
| Lymph Nodes | Small, bean-shaped structures that filter lymph and activate immune cells. |
| Dehydration | A fluid imbalance where water loss exceeds intake, impairing normal body function. |
| Residual Volume | The amount of air that remains in the lungs after maximal exhalation. |
