| Define antecedent. | the word, phrase, or clause referred to by a pronoun. |
| What is the defenition of antithesis? | the opposition or contrast of ideas;the direct opposite. |
| What is caricature? | a verbal description, to exaggerate for comic effect, a person's distinctive physical features or other charecteristics. |
| Define conceit. | an extended metaphor or surprising analogy between seemingly dissimilar objects. |
| What is the difference between connotation and denotation? | Connotation is the implied, suggested meaning of a word while denotation is the strict, literal, dictionary deffinition of a word. |
| What is an extended metaphor? | a metaphor developed at great length occuring fre |
| What is the difference between genre and prose? | Genre is the major category of a literary work while prose is the major division of genre such as fiction and non-fiction. |
| what is the opposite of hyperbole? | an understatement. |
| What is the difference between synecedoche and metonymy? | The difference between synecdoche and metonymy is that in metonymy the word you use is related or linked to the concept you are really talking about, but isn’t actually a part of it. Synecedoche is taking a part of the concept and calling it that. |
