There are two parts to respiration Inhale and Exhale
Inhale When the diaphram muscle contracts, moving down and causing the lungs to expand
Exhale When the diaphram relaxes, air moves out through the mouth automatically
Parts of the blood White Blood Cells, Red Blood Cells, Plasma and Platelets
What do White Blood Cells do They fight bacteria and viruses, and are made in the bone marrow
What does Plasma do Its parts of the blood that carries nutrients, minerals, oxygen to cells and carries waste away and they are mainly watery
What do Red Blood Cells do These cells carry oxygen to blood cells using a iron-containing protein called hemoglobin and they are made in the bone marrow
What do Platelets do They are 1% cell fragments that help the process of clotting
What are some major organs in/with/next to the bone Periosteum, Compact Bone, Cancellous Bone and the Marrow
What does the Periosteum do Its a thin membrane that covers and protects and it contains blood vessels and nerves
What does the Compact Bone do Its a hard bone that provides structure to bones
What does the Cancellous Bone do Its a porous bone (aka the spongy bone) and it contains blood vessels and marrow
What does the Marrow do The Marrow has a soft, jelly like center of bones. It has 2 types: Yellow, which produces fat cell, cartilage, and bone
Important parts in/with/next to the bone Joint, Cartilage, Ligament and Tendon
What is the Joint It is any place where two or more bones come together
What is the Cartilage It is a rubbery connective tissue that cushions bones located in the joint
What is the Ligament It is the connective tissue that attaches bone to bonw
What is the Tendon Its a strong connective tissue that attaches muscle to the bone
