What is the reflex arc? The neural/signal conduction route to and from the CNS which allows the body to respond before the brain processes the information.
What is the neurotransmitter in the somatic motor pathway? Acetylcholine (ACh)
Damage to which nerve could make the diaphragm unable to function? Phrenic
Which hormone is released by the pituitary to stimulate the thyroid gland? Thyrotropin or thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH)
What does thyrotropin do? Helps stimulate T3 and T4 in the thyroid which helps control metabolism in the body
What are platelets main contribution? blood clotting
What are the functions of the lymph nodes? Defense for body and hematopoiesis
What cells make up and line the nasal passages? Pseudostratified columnar epithelium
