Divide Fractions

QuestionAnswer
What is the rule for dividing fractions? Keep the first fraction, change division to multiplication, and flip the second fraction (use the reciprocal).
What is the reciprocal of 2/3? 3/2
1/2 ÷ 1/4 = ? 2
3/5 ÷ 1/2 = ? 6/5 or 1 1/5
4 ÷ 1/3 = ? 12
Why do we flip the second fraction when dividing? Because dividing by a fraction is the same as multiplying by its reciprocal.
7/8 ÷ 1/2 = ? 7/4 or 1 3/4
What are the steps for dividing fractions using Keep-Change-Flip? Keep the first fraction, change the division sign to multiplication, and flip the second fraction.
Convert the mixed number 3 2/5 to an improper fraction. 17/5
Convert the improper fraction 22/6 to a mixed number. 3 2/3
