| Axial muscles | The muscles of the trunk, head, and neck, as well as the muscles controlling the eyeballs and the tail |
| Appendicular muscles | The muscles that stabilize the pectoral (shoulder) and pelvic (hip) girdles and move the upper and lower limbs |
| Skull | The bony structure of the head that protects the brain and supports the face |
| Nervous system | The body's command center, composed of the brain, spinal cord, and a network of nerves, that controls and coordinates all bodily functions by sending and receiving messages |
| CNS | The body's main processing center, made up of the brain and spinal cord |
| PNS | The network of nerves located outside the brain and spinal cord that connects the central nervous system (CNS to the rest of the body, including organs and limbs. |
| ANS | Autonomic Nervous system, that controls involuntary functions such as breathing, heart rate, digestions, and blood pressure |
| Senses & Endocrine | Interconnected through the hypothalamus, which acts as a liaison between the two. |
| Heart | Muscular organ that pumps blood throughout the body via the circulatory system, which consists of a network of blood vessels |
| Blood's role | Blood, carried by vessels, delivers oxygen and nutrients to every part of the body |
| Lymphatic and Immune systems | The Lymphatic system is part of the body's immune system, which protects against infection and disease. |
| Respiratory system | The network of organs and tissues that facilitates the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide between the body and environment |
