Insulin A hormone that lowers blood glucose by promoting its uptake into cells.
What enzyme breaks down fats in the small intestine? Lipase.
The ________ duct drains lymph from the lower body and left side of the upper body. Thoracic duct.
What part of the brain controls breathing and heart rate? Medulla oblongata.
Macrophages Cells that engulf pathogens and present antigens to activate immune response.
Which gland links the nervous and endocrine systems? Hypothalamus.
