What does the autonomic nervous system control? Automatic body functions like heart rate, breathing, and digestion.
What is the main job of the cerebrum? Thinking, memory, and voluntary movements.
What hormone does the thyroid gland make? Thyroxine (T4), which controls metabolism.
What organ makes insulin? The pancreas.
What doe red blood cells do? They carry oxygen around the body.
What is the main function of white blood cells? To fight infection.
What is the purpose of platelets? To help your blood clot when you bleed.
What does the heart's left ventricle do? Pumps oxygen-rich blood to the whole body.
What doe arteries do? Carry blood away from the heart.
What is the main job of the lymphatic system? Return fluid to the blood and help with immunity.
What is the diaphragm used for? Breathing-helps the lungs pull in air.
Where does gas exchange happen in the lungs? In the alveoli (air sacs).
what does the stomach do? Breaks down food with acid and enzymes.
What nutrient is mainly absorbed in the small intestine? Most nutrients-carbs, fats, and proteins.
What does the large intestine do? Absorbs water and forms stool.
What is the main job of the kidneys? Filter blood and make urine.
What is a nephron? The filtering unit of the kidney.
What is the purpose of the reproductive system? Make sex cells and support reproduction.
What does bone marrow make? Blood cells.
What is homeostatis? The body keeping a stable, balanced internal environment.
