What are the five elements that make up living things? Oxygen, Hydrogen, Nitrogen, Calcium, and Carbon
Atoms move slowest in..? Solids
Have atoms in our body been around for longer then the solar system came into existence? yes
What is Brownian Motion? The constant jiggling of particles just large enough to be seen
Can molecules be detected by all of our senses including our sense of smell? yes
What does the chemical formula tell us? THe proportions of each kind of atom
What is inside the nucleus? Protons and Neutrons
How many electrons can the second shell hold up to? 8
What does the arrangement of electrons in the sheels dictate? THe atom's physical and chemical properties
How does the Periodic table list their atoms? It lists them by their atomic number and their electron arrangment
Where are electrons located in atoms? All around the nucleus in circular formations called shells
Who began with the idea of atoms? The Greeks in 400 B.C
How do are elements represented on the Periodic table? With a chemical symbol which is a letter or letters, with the first letter always capitolized
