QuestionAnswer
What is the functional unit of the nervous system, and what are its main parts? Neurons. The main parts include the cell body, axons, and dendrites.
What are the primary functions of the axial muscles? Axial muscles stabilize and position the head, neck, and trunk; support posture; protect internal organs; and assist with breathing and swallowing.
What happens at the neuromuscular junction (NMJ)? The neurotransmitter, which is called Acetylcholine, gets released the neuron into the synaptic cleft.
Which cranial nerve is responsible for the vision? The cranial nerve two, which is called optic nerve.
Describe the path of blood flow in our heart? The path of blood: right atrium, right ventricle, lungs, left atrium, left ventricle, and body.
What is the main difference between arteries and veins? Veins contains valves which prevent backward flow of blood. Arteries don't have these valves.
What the definition of tidal volume? The normal amount of air that a person can breathe in and out.
What structure in lungs prevents alveoli collapse? The surfactant in alveoli prevents collapse of alveoli.
What is the main function of lymphatic system? It filters interstitial fluid and allows immune system to take action against pathogens.
What hormones in small intestine points out satiety? The hormones include CCK and glucagon like peptide-1.
