TermDefinition
Axial Muscles Muscles that support and move the head, neck, and torso.
Apendicular Muscles Muscles that move the arms and legs.
Neuron A nerve cell that sends and receives electrical signals.
Central Nervous System (CNS) The brain and spinal cord.
Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) Controls involuntary actions like breathing and heartbeat.
Sympathetic Division Flight or fight response.
Hormone Chemical messenger released by endocrine glands.
Pituitary Gland Master gland that controls other endocrine glands.
Lymphatic Nodes Small structures that filter lymph fluid and help fight infection.
Alveoli Tiny air sacs in the lungs where oxygen and carbon dioxide are exchanged.
