stack 2 Anatomy

Axon the long, thin part of a neuron (nerve cell) that carries electrical signals away from the cell body to other neurons, muscles, or glands.
Spinal Cord long bundle of nerves that runs from the brain down through the vertebral column
Digestive Tract is the long, continuous tube through which food travels as it is broken down and absorbed by the body.
Pancreas is the long, continuous tube through which food travels as it is broken down and absorbed by the body.Produces enzymes (like amylase, lipase, and proteases) These enzymes are released into the small intestine to help break down carbs, fats, and proteins.
Thalamus Acts as the brain’s relay station Receives sensory information (like sight, sound, touch) and sends it to the right parts of the brain for processing Helps with attention, awareness, and sleep–wake cycles
Left Atrium is one of the four chambers of the heart.Receives oxygen-rich blood from the lungs through the pulmonary veins Sends that blood into the left ventricle, which then pumps it out to the rest of the body
Great Cardiac Vein a major vein of the heart that helps return deoxygenated blood from the heart muscle back to the right side of the heart.
Coronary Sinus a large vein on the posterior (back) side of the heart.Collects deoxygenated blood from the heart muscle (myocardium) via veins like the great cardiac vein.
Thymus a small gland located behind the sternum (breastbone) and between the lungs.Plays a key role in the immune system Produces T-cells (a type of white blood cell) that help the body fight infections
Tonsil small masses of lymphatic tissue located at the back of the throat.Help fight infections by trapping bacteria and viruses that enter through the mouth and nose Part of the body’s immune system
