What system provides the force necessary for bones to move? The muscular system provides the force by contracting and pulling on skeletal structures.
How does the nervous system help maintain homeostasis? The nervous system uses feedback loops that sense, integrate, and respond to changes, helping keep the body’s internal environment stable.
What are the two main structural divisions of the nervous system? The central nervous system (CNS) and the peripheral nervous system (PNS).

How does the nervous system communicate with the body? The nervous system sends nerve impulses through neurons. These impulses trigger the release of neurotransmitters that allow communication between cells.
Where is the heart located in the body? The heart is located in the center of the chest, within the thoracic cavity.
How many sides does the heart have, and what chambers are found on each side? The heart has two sides—right and left. Each side contains an atrium (upper chamber) and a ventricle (lower chamber).
What is the main function of the immune system? The immune system destroys or neutralizes pathogens that could cause disease or death.
What types of structures make up the lymphatic system? The lymphatic system consists of vessels, cells, and organs that help maintain fluid balance and support immunity.
What are the two main functions of the respiratory system? The respiratory system functions as an air distributor and a gas exchanger, supplying oxygen to the body and removing carbon dioxide.
