malo--Hoy es un día (worse than) ayer. Hoy es un día peor que ayer. Today is a worse day than yesterday. Peor is the irregular comparative of malo.
grande--Mi casa es (bigger than) la tuya. Mi casa es más grande que la tuya. My house is bigger than yours. Más + adjective + que expresses comparative superiority.
caro--Este coche es (less expensive than) aquel. Este coche es menos caro que aquel. This car is less expensive than that one. Menos + adjective + que expresses comparative inferiority.
alto--Juan es (as tall as) su hermano. Juan es tan alto como su hermano. Juan is as tall as his brother. Tan + adjective + como expresses equality.
bueno--Esta película es (better than) la otra. Esta película es mejor que la otra. This movie is better than the other. Mejor is the irregular comparative of bueno.
peligroso--Mi barrio es (more dangerous than) el tuyo. Mi barrio es más peligroso que el tuyo. My neighborhood is more dangerous than yours. Regular comparative formed with más.
cansado--Hoy estoy (less tired than) ayer. Hoy estoy menos cansado que ayer. Today I am less tired than yesterday. Menos marks inferiority.
fácil--Este examen es (the easiest of all). Este examen es el más fácil de todos. This exam is the easiest of all. El más + adjective + de expresses superlative.
simpático--María es (the nicest person). María es la más simpática. María is the nicest person. Superlative with definite article + más.
rico--Esta sopa está (very delicious). Esta sopa está riquísima. This soup is very delicious. -ísima is a superlative suffix.
rico--Estos pasteles están (extremely delicious). Estos pasteles están riquísimos. These pastries are extremely delicious. Plural masculine form of -ísimos.
alto--La montaña es (higher than) la colina. La montaña es más alta que la colina. The mountain is higher than the hill. Regular comparative.
malo--Este problema es (the worst). Este problema es el peor. This problem is the worst. Peor as superlative of malo.
estricto--Mi profesor es (less strict than) el tuyo. Mi profesor es menos estricto que el tuyo. My teacher is less strict than yours. Inferiority comparison.
interesante--Tus ideas son (as interesting as) las mías. Tus ideas son tan interesantes como las mías. Your ideas are as interesting as mine. Equality structure.
hermoso--Esta ciudad es (the most beautiful). Esta ciudad es la más hermosa. This city is the most beautiful. Superlative superiority.
frío--El clima hoy es (colder than) ayer. El clima hoy es más frío que ayer. The weather today is colder than yesterday. Más + adjective.
rápido--Este atleta es (the fastest). Este atleta es el más rápido. This athlete is the fastest. Superlative with más.
grave--La situación es (very serious). La situación es gravísima. The situation is very serious. Feminine -ísima form.

breve--Su respuesta fue (very brief). Su respuesta fue brevísima. His answer was very brief. -ísima intensifies adjective.
