What is the main job of a neuron? sends messages through the nervous system.
What do neuroglia do? They support, protect, and help take care of neurons.
What is an action potential? electrical signal that travels down a neuron.
What part of the brain controls thinking and memory? cerebrum.
What does the spinal cord do? it carries messages between the brain and the rest of the body.
What is the “fight or flight” system called? sympathetic nervous system.
What is the main job of the retina? To turn light into signals the brain can understand.
What part of the ear helps with balance? inner ear (semicircular canals).
What is a hormone? chemical messenger that helps control body activities.
Which gland is known as the “master gland”? pituitary gland.
What hormone lowers blood sugar? pump blood throughout the body.
What carries oxygen in red blood cells? Hemoglobin.
