What does the endocrine system regulate? Hormones affecting growth, metabolism, and homeostasis.
what do lymph nodes do? They filter lymph and help fight infection.
What hormone related organ control metabolism? The thyroid gland.
What blood component is involved in clotting? Platelets.
What is the term for maintaining stable conditions inside the body? Homeostasis
What type of blood vessel carries blood away from the heart? Arteries.
What blood vessel returns blood to the heart? Veins
What organs is the primary site of oxygen uptake into the body The Lungs.
.What is the purpose of pulmonary veins? They carry oxygenated blood from the lungs back to the heart.
What muscle contracts to allow inhalation? The diaphragm.
What is the main function of the respiratory system? To exchange oxygen and carbon dioxide between the body and environment.
