| What does evaluating scientific evidence mean? | To evaluate means to make a judgement as to the value of something. |
| What headings should scientific evidence be judged under? | Relevance, Accuracy, Bias. |
| What is relevant evidence? | Information that is related to the topic you are considering. |
| What is accurate evidence? | How close a measurement is to the true or accepted value; ask whether the information has been peer-reviewed. |
| What is biased evidence? | Unfairly selecting or encouraging one outcome over another. |
| What are the two basic forms of science? | Basic (pure) science and Applied science. |
| What is basic (pure) science? | Science that seeks to develop knowledge for knowledge’s sake. |
| What is applied science? | Science that aims to use scientific knowledge to solve real-world problems. |
| How has science contributed economically? | It has resulted in huge economic/financial gains, helped control diseases, improved farming, and increased crop production. |
