What was the quartering act? Required all colonists with extra room to provide housing and food for the British soldiers in America.
What was the stamp act? Requires taxes on all legal documents that require a stamp or seal. Special agents were appointed to sell stamps and collect taxes on them.
What was the declaratory act? • Parliament had the complete authority to pass any laws or statutes it wanted, change colonial governments, and make any changes to laws it wanted, whenever it wanted.
What did the Townshend act put taxes on? • glass, paper, and tea.
What fight happened on March 5, 1770? • a fight broke out between colonists and British Soldiers in Boston. 5 people died, nobody knows who started the fights. It was called the Boston-Massacre.
What happened after the Boston Massacre? • Townshend Acts were repealed, leaving taxes only on tea.
When was the Boston Tea Party? What did the king do after? 12/16/1773. After, the king passed the Intolerable Acts.
What was the purpose of the Continental Congress? • Unite the colonies and decide on the next step against the king.
What was the name of soldiers trained to be ready to fight in a minute? • A group of men trained to be soldiers at a minute’s notice is called Minutemen.
