Causes of the industrial revolution: The agrarian revolution, a population explosion,a revolution in energy.
Effect of the industrial revolution: Urbanization, garbage-filled overcrowded city-streets, poor working conditions, new class structure.
What was the new class structure? The upper class were rich industrial business owners, upper middle class professionals like doctors and lawyers, lower class teachers shop owners office workers.
Ending of urbanization game. In the end every square inch of the city was either covered in factors, houses or pubs it was overcrowded, disgusting, and full of crime.
Where did the industrial revolution begin. It began in Britain and then spread to Germany and Japan
How did it spread. Exploration and Colonization.
Describe one invention The mechanical reaper, As it moved, a vibrating blade swung back and forth, cutting grain as it rode through the fields. As the contraption progressed, a divider would separate the cut grain from standing grain.

What was its impact on the industrial revolution. with McCormick's Reaper, one man with a horse could harvest large fields in a day. It was therefore possible to have larger farms with hundreds possibly thousands of acres.
Why were women and children hired to work in factory's Because they could pay them less, also children were small so they could make them crawl into tight spaces (like the machines).
Laissez-Faire (free to do) A business could do whatever they wanted and the government shouldn´t interfere.
Why were factories originally built on the river? Factories were run by water powered machines such as the spinning mule also goods would be shipped international via the river.
Cottage industry Spinners and weavers making clothing at home
Factory system. Method of mass production machines and workers brought together to produce large quantities.
Industry, initially transformed by the industrial revolution in England.
How did the rail roads contribute to changes within the industrial revolution. Increased industry, connected cities and towns together including connecting one end of Britain to the other.
Jethro Tull Invented the seed drill
Great Britain had all three of these factors of production (hit: L.L.C) Land:natural resources like coal rivers harbors etc. Labor:a growing population that made a willing workforce. Capital:funds for investment from wealthy citizens.
Effects on middle class women Middle class women , enjoyed more economic opportunities., greater access to education, and were affected by the idea of separate spheres.
Effects on working class women Separated from families, found jobs because more people could afford to hire them some or no improvement to status.
