Transverse Abdominis The innermost muscle of the abdominal wall
Agonist A muscle that directly performs a specific movement
Latissimus dorsi The muscle that extends and adducts the arm
Linea alba A band of connective tissue that runs over the rectus abdominis from the xiphoid process to the pubis
Axon (of a Neuron) A single process that usually extends from a tapered portion of the cell body
Astrocytes Glia cells that help to form the blood-brain barrier
Neurons Excitable cells that conduct impulses
Vasodilation A major mechanism of inhibition of sympathetic vasoconstrictor impulses
Hemodynamics The collection of mechanisms that influence the circulation of blood
Inotropic Factors Factors that affect the strength of myocardial contraction
