| warlord | a military commander ruling an area of land, but owed allegiance to the king |
| civil service | a test people could take to serve in the government |
| cultural diffusion | the spread of ideas and customs from one society to another |
| oracle bones | bones that ancient priest used to speak for a god or goddess |
