TermDefinition
TPACK A teaching framework that combines Technological, Pedagogical, and Content Knowledge to help teachers integrate technology effectively.
Content Knowledge (CK) A teacher’s understanding of the subject matter they are teaching (math, science, literacy, etc.).
Pedagogical Knowledge (PK) A teacher’s understanding of how to teach and manage a classroom, including strategies, methods, and learning theory.
Technological Knowledge (TK) A teacher’s ability to use digital tools, devices, software, and technology resources effectively.
Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK) Knowing how to teach specific content in ways that make it understandable for learners.
Technological Content Knowledge (TCK) Understanding how technology can support, transform, or represent content in new ways
Technological Pedagogical Knowledge (TPK) Understanding how teaching and learning change when technology is used as part of pedagogy.
Technology Integration The process of using technology tools to support instruction, enhance learning, and improve engagement
SAMR Model A model that explains different levels of technology integration: Substitution, Augmentation, Modification, and Redefinition.
Digital Literacy The ability of students and teachers to use digital tools, evaluate online information, create content, and communicate effectively.
Learning Engagement The use of strategies and tools ,including technology ,to keep students motivated, active, and involved in learning.
Instructional Technology Any digital tool or platform used to enhance teaching, such as apps, tablets, simulations, or online resources.
Blended Learning A teaching approach that combines traditional classroom instruction with online learning activities.
Differentiated Instruction Tailoring teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs of learners.
Assistive Technology Tools such as text-to-speech, voice typing, audiobooks, or visual supports designed to help students with disabilities succeed.
