Fourth trimester

What is the fourth trimester? The first three months after birth.
Why are human newborns considered neurologically immature? Newborns are born with very little muscle control Rely heavily on on caregivers for basic functions
What are the main senses developed in newborns, and in what order? Hearing, smell, touch, taste, and vision
What reflexes are innate in newborns? Rooting (turning towards stimuli), sucking (for feeding), grasping (holding onto objects), Moro reflex (startle response), stepping (preparing to walk).
