Cultural Influence communities learned to help...herbs, positions to ease birth, tools for cutting cord safely, ways to deal with bleeding, delivery rituals, overall help with labour...ALSO it can hurt, like shaming, isolation of mother, withholding pain relief & support
Labour the process that leads to birth...there are many stages (uterus, cervix, baby goes through the birth canal, placenta comes out)
