MAYA: (Shrugs) Please. Lila couldn't draw her way out of a paper bag Hey. Morning
MAYA: (Smirking) Oh, hey, Lila. Loved your drawing last night. The, uhm... pancake cat? It was a fox.
SKY: Hey. (Without looking up) Hi.
SKY: That's a new drawing? Yeah. It's supposed to be a fox family
SKY: (Leans over) Wow the colors are really good (Surprised) Thanks.
SKY: Look, uhm... about this morning-Maya was just being, you know Maya. Yeah. I know. She's funny. Everyone thinks she's funny.
SKY: But you didn't (Pauses) Its not the first time. She always says it's a joke, but after a while... jokes start to sound like truth .
SKY: I get that. She can go to far sometimes. You don't say anything, though.
SKY: (guilty) I know. I just... don't want her to turn on me. Yeah. that's how it works, right? As long as she's laughing at me, she's not laughing at you.
MAYA: There you guys are! Lila, we have to talk about your latest masterpiece. What about it?
MAYA: Well, it's on everyone's feed. Somebody made a meme of it. Look. (Staring) Who did that?
MAYA: I don't know, but it's kinda funny, right? "Fox or Flop" (Laughs) (Quietly) You think it's funny?
MAYA: I mean, it's not that bad- (Snapping) It's humiliating! You think it's okay to make people feel small just so you can laugh?
MAYA: Woah. Chill out No! I'm done "chilling." You make fun of me and everyone laughs because they think you're right. But you're just mean, Maya. Mean and scared.
SKY: (softly) Lila- Don't worry, Sky. I'm not Mad at you. I just wish you'd said something sooner.
MAYA: Hey. (Coldly) What do you want?
MAYA: I-uh-found your drawing. You left it in art. Thanks.
MAYA: Look, I... I'm sorry. About everything. The posts, the jokes. All of it. (skeptical) Why now?
MAYA: Because you were right. I was scared. I thought if I made people laugh, they wouldn't laugh at me. (Softens) Maya...
MAYA: I know I can't take it back. But I deleted the meme, and I told people to stop sharing it. (Nods slowly) Thank you.
MAYA: You're really good, you know. At drawing. I just didn't want to admit it. Maybe you should start saying what you actually mean.
SKY: So... truce? (After a moment) Yeah. Truce.
MAYA: (looks to Lila) You should do it. Me?
MAYA: Yeah. You could draw about how one small act can change things. Like ripples in the water.
MAYA: Maybe we could all help. I'd like that.
