| Succumb | fail to resist pressure, temptation, or some other negative force. |
| Detain | keep (someone) in official custody, typically for questioning about a crime or in politically sensitive situations. |
| insubordinate | defiant of authority; disobedient to orders. |
| impulsive | acting or done without forethought. |
| conviction | a formal declaration that someone is guilty of a criminal offense, made by the verdict of a jury or the decision of a judge in a court of law. |
| dreary | dull, bleak, and lifeless; depressing. |
| inevitable | certain to happen; unavoidable. |
| unfaze/unfazed | Not worried, disturbed or surprised |
| vigorous/vigorously | "Vigorous" is an adjective meaning strong, energetic, and full of enthusiasm, while "vigorously" is the adverb form, meaning in a strong or energetic way. |
| encounter | An encounter is a meeting, often unexpected, that can be a chance encounter, a confrontation, or an experience of something new or unpleasant. |
| remediation | the action of remedying something, in particular of reversing or stopping environmental damage. |
| adequate | satisfactory or acceptable in quality or quantity. |
| constantly | continuously over a period of time; always. |
| arrogant | having or revealing an exaggerated sense of one's own importance or abilities. |
| retribution | punishment inflicted on someone as vengeance for a wrong or criminal act. |
