| detain | keep (someone) from proceeding; hold back. |
| insubordinate | defiant of authority; disobedient to orders. |
| impulsive | acting or done without forethought |
| conviction | a formal declaration that someone is guilty of a criminal offense, made by the verdict of a jury or the decision of a judge in a court of law. |
| dreary | dull, bleak, and lifeless; depressing |
| inevitable | certain to happen; unavoidable |
| unfaze/unfazed | means not confused, worried, or shocked by something that has happened, and it describes someone who remains calm and composed |
