| Question | Answer |

| Arm | Used to hold the microscope when its being carried |
| Stage | A flat platform where the specimen slides are placed for viewing |
| Stage Clips | Clips use to hold the specimen slides are placed for viewing |
| Light Source | Provides light to better see the specimen |
| Base | The bottom of the microscope that is used for support |
| Diaphragm | Used to control the amount of light that passes through the stage |
| Eye Piece | Contains the lens that you look through. This lens is typically 10x |
| Coarse Adjustment Knob | Moves the stage up and down by large amounts to bring the specimen into focus |
| Fine Adjustment Knob | Moves the stage up and down by much smaller amounts to fine-tune focus and increase the detail of specimen |
| Objective Lens | The three lenses that can be rotated to change the magnification. On most microscopes,they are 4x,10x and 40x |
| Body Tube | Connects the eyepiece lens to the objective lens |
| Revolving Nose Piece | Holds the objective lenses. Can be rotated to change the magnification level. |
