Arm Used to hold the microscope when its being carried
Stage A flat platform where the specimen slides are placed for viewing
Stage Clips Clips use to hold the specimen slides are placed for viewing
Light Source Provides light to better see the specimen
Base The bottom of the microscope that is used for support
Diaphragm Used to control the amount of light that passes through the stage
Eye Piece Contains the lens that you look through. This lens is typically 10x
Coarse Adjustment Knob Moves the stage up and down by large amounts to bring the specimen into focus
Fine Adjustment Knob Moves the stage up and down by much smaller amounts to fine-tune focus and increase the detail of specimen
Objective Lens The three lenses that can be rotated to change the magnification. On most microscopes,they are 4x,10x and 40x
Body Tube Connects the eyepiece lens to the objective lens
Revolving Nose Piece Holds the objective lenses. Can be rotated to change the magnification level.
