Numbers and Operations

TermDefinition
Zero Pair 2 numbers whose sum is zero.
Negative Numbers Numbers that are less than zero. They are located to the LEFT of zero on a horizontal number line and BELOW zero on a vertical number line.
Opposite Numbers Numbers that are the same distance from zero on a number line but in opposite directions. These are also known as the additive inverses.
Positive Numbers Numbers that are the greater than zero. These are located to the RIGHT of zero on the horizontal number line and ABOVE zero on the vertical number line.
