Constituent A person whom a member of congress has been elected to represent
Concurrent Jurisdiction authority shared by both federal and state courts
Bicameral Legislature A two -chamber legislature
Incumbent Elected officials who is already in office
census complete count of population, including place of residence
Gerrymander To draw a districts boundaries to gain advantage in elections
Censure A vote of formal disapproval of a members actions
Reapportionment The process of reassigning representations based on population after every census
Filibuster A method of defeating in the senate by stalling the legislative process and preventing a vote
Cloture Resolution A procedure that allows each senator to speak only one hour on a bill under debate.
