Water from the Rock II The Israelites complain again about not having water to drink. God told Moses to "speak to the rock and command water to flow from it," but Moses strikes the rock instead.
God Chooses Joshua to lead the Israelites Before Moses dies, God calls him to choose Joshua as the new leader of the Israelites. Moses laid his hands on Joshua and told him to "be strong and of good courage"
Covenant with Moses God makes a covenant with Moses to make the Israelites a nation of mighty priests to lead the world in worship to God. God gives Moses the 10 Commandments as a sign of this covenant.
Israelites Complain and the Bronze Serpent The Israelites complain against God & Moses because of the long journey. Serpents come and bite the people who then realize their sin. God tells Moses to make a bronze serpent on a staff and when the people look at it, they are healed.
The 12 Spies go to Canaan As they get closer to the Promised Land, Moses spends 12 spies to scout out the land and they return in 40 days. 10 scouts were afraid they couldn't defeat people, but Caleb & Joshua trusted God would bring them to the Promised Land.
Moses builds the Tabernacle and Ark of the Covenant The Lord tells Moses to build a place of worship & sacrifice for where the Lord would be present to the Israelites and how to worship in Leviticus. They build the Ark of the Covenant and place Manna, Aaron's staff and the commandments in it.
Worshipping the Golden Calf The Israelites grew worried of waiting for Moses on Mr. Sanai and ask Aaron to build a god for them to worship. Israelites gather gold jewelry to melt down and make a golden calf to worship and dance/sing to god. Moses destroys it
God gives Moses the 10 Commandments Moses goes up Mt. Sinai and encounters God who gives him 10 Commandments as ways to live in a right relationship with God and love for one another. God is showing people how to avoid slavery to sin and live in freedom in love with God.
The Manna in the Desert Shortly after the Israelites leave Egypt they begin to complain against God about being hungry. God tells Moses he will send bread from heaven, called "manna" that fed the people and sent them quail as well.
Water from the Rock I The Israelites continue to complain, but now about being thirsty. God told Moses to strike a rock and water would come flowing from the rock to nourish the people as they travel through the desert.
The Parting of the Red Sea After Pharaoh told Moses and the Israelites they were free to go and the Israelites are leaving Egypt, he decides to bring the people back. They come to the Red Sea and God tells Moses to lift his staff to part the Red Sea. Israelites walk through - Free
The 10 Plagues Because Pharaoh refused to let the Israelites go and sacrifice to the Lord, God sent 10 plagues that were meant to show God's power over the Egyptian gods
The Passover The last plague of the Passover was the final sign of God's power & presence. Gold told Moses to have Israelites sacrifice a lamb. The Israelites were to eat the lamb with unleavened bread and bitter herbs to leave Egypt quickly
Birth of Moses After many years, the Israelites were enslaved by the Egyptians because they were afraid they would rise up against them. The Pharaoh ordered all the male baby boys to be killed, but one escaped - Moses - who would be raised in Pharaoh's family.
The Burning Bush & "I AM" When Moses was living in the land of Midian, he encountered God at the Burning Bush. It was at the bush that God revealed his name to Moses "I am who I am." When God appeared to Moses he gave him the mission to lead the Israelites out of Egypt.
