integers the set of whole numbers and their opposites.
absolute value the distance between a number and 0 on a number line .
rational number a number that can be written as a fraction and the denominator cannot be 0.
termination decimal a decimal that ends .
repeating decimal a decimal that has a pattern that repeats.
like terms terms of an algebraic expression that have the same variables raised to the same exponents.
simplest form an algebraic expression that has no like terms and no parenthesis.
linear expression an algebraic expression in which the exponent of the variable is 1.
equivalent equations equations that have the same solutions.
inequality a mathematical sentence that compares expressions.
solution of an inequality a value that makes an inequality true.
solution set the set of all solutions of an equality.
