Changes to Earth's Surface
| Term | Definition |

| weathering | the breaking down of rocks into sediments by wind, water, or ice |
| erosion | the movement of sediments by wind, water, or ice to a new location |
| deposition | when sediments are carried by wind, water, or ice and dropped off in a new location |
| river delta | formed when sediments are deposited at the mouth of a river where a river meets a lake or ocean |
| canyon/v-shaped valley | formed from water through weathering and erosion, creating steep sides (cliffs) |
| landform | a natural feature on Earth's surface |
| sand dune | formed when wind moves sand to a new location by erosion and deposition |
| glacier | a slow moving body of ice |
| U-Shaped Valley | formed when a slow moving glacier weathers and erodes the sides of a mountain creating a valley. |
