A review of photosynthesis terms

Roots Part of the plant that grows underground absorbing water and nutrients for the plants
Leaves the part of the plant that absorbs sunlight to make food for plants
photosynthesis the process used by plants to take in sunlight, water, and carbon dioxide from the air to make food for the plant
carbon dioxide a gas that is absorbed by leaves
oxygen a gas is released by the leaves that is needed for us to breathe
chloroplast the part of the plant cell that uses sunlight to make food for the plant
chlorophyll tiny molecules in chloroplasts that absorb sunlight and give plants their green color
stomata very tiny holes in leaves that are used to absorb carbon dioxide from the air and release oxygen into the air
