O.H and U.R.D

| Underground Primary Cable | Designed to be installed below ground. These wires have a phase and a concentric neutral combined |
| Underground Secondary Conductor | Secondary wires that are designed to be direct bury or in condiut. 2 phases and a neutral and the neutral is coated |
| Loop Feed | A circuit that has 2 or more directions that it can be energized from |
| Radial Feed | A circuit that only has 1 direction it can be energized from. |
| Normal Open/ Normal Closed | Any switch that is normally open or closed. A normally open switch is depicted as N/O and is a green dot on a print. A normally closed switch is depicted as N/C and is a red dot on a print |
| Fault Indicator | A U.R.D application. They are troubleshooting devices designed to help locating faults |
| Load Break Elbow | A U.R.D elbow that is designed to be installed or removed under load there are 2 white bands on the elbow |
| Cold Load | An initial rush of high amperage from multiple customers all at once when a circuit is re-energized this may result in a slow burn fuse |
| Hi-Pot/ Thumper Device | A DC current driven device used for location an underground fault |
| Switching Orders | Prior written documentation for switching procedres. |
| Bleeder Wire | A very small diameter wire that connects from the back of a U.R.D. elbow to the concentric neutral |
| U.R.D | This signifies underground residential distribution |
| Continuity Meter | A testing device used to determine if a circuit is complete (has continuity) and allows current to flow. |
