Affirmative action refers to a set of policies granting preferential treatment to a number of particular subgroups within a population. Horrible for asians
social class or SES an individuals position in a stratified social order. Higher up you are, the better you do

resource dilution model parental resources are finite and each additional child gets smaller amount of them
