| Left Alignment | a text formatting option that positions text and other elements flush with the left margin, creating a straight left edge and a "ragged" right edge |
| Center Alignment | positioning text horizontally in the middle of the page, equidistant from both the left and right margins |
| Justified Alignment | the text is stretched to line up evenly with both the left and right margins of the document |
| Right Alignment | a formatting option that positions text, images, or other elements along the right edge of a document, container, or margin |
