| common ratio | the ratio between each pair of consecutive terms in a geometric sequence |
| geometric sequence | an ordered list of numbers in which the ratio between each pair of consecutive terms is the same |
| exponential equation | an equation in which the variable expressions occur as exponents |
| compound interest | the interest earned o the principal and on previously earn interest |
| exponential decay function | a function of the form y = (1-r) ^ t |
| exponential decay | when a quantity decreases by the same factor over equal intervals of time |
| exponential growth function | a function of the form y = a (1+r) ^ t |
| exponential growth | when a quantity increases by the same factor over equal intervals of time |
| parent function | the most basic function in a family of functions |
