TermDefinition
Stanza a section of a poem that consists of a line or group of lines
Stanza Break the blank space that divides two stanza from each other.
Content the words or subject of a piece of writing
Tone the attitude of a piece of writing, expressed through the style of writing and the words the author uses.
Voice the unique way a person expresses their idea in speech or writing.
Anaphora the repetition of words (or phrases) at the start of a series of lines in a poem.
Figurative Language words or phrases that mean more than their dictionary definition.
Idiom a phrase that means something different from the words in the phrase.
Imagery descriptive or figurative language that helps the reader to create mental images and connections with the text.
Point of View how the narrator sees, feels, and/ or thinks about the story being told.
