skeletal system the structure of bones that allows animals and humans to move and be protected.
joint A place in the body where two bones come together
ligament Connective tissue that connects bone to bone
cartilage A connective tissue that is more flexible than bone and that protects the ends of bones and keeps them from rubbing together
tendon Strong connective tissue that attaches muscle to bone
clavicle collar bone
skull bone structure that covers the brain
vertebrae 33 bones that protect the spinal cord
rib cage group of bones that protect the heart, lungs and other organs
