| stock | a type of security that gives stockholders a share of ownership in a company. |
| bond | investment where you lend your money and it is paid back at a certain day and certain interest rate |
| diversification | spreading your investments around so that your exposure to any one type of asset is limited |
| retirement account | investment account that helps individuals retire late in life usually at the age of 59 |
| stock market | a place to buy and sell shares and other financial instruments |
| dividend | a payout to individual shareholders, funded by a company’s profits |
| mutual fund | open ended investment company that pools money from many investors into one fund |
| common stocks | a class of stock that represents equity in a corporation |
| preferred stock | shares issued from a company that have priority in receiving dividends and other benefits over common stocks. |
| corporate bonds | bonds that are issued out by certain companies |
| government bonds | a form of bonds issued by a government to support public spending |
| benificiary | a person that receives designated funds from someone else or a company |
| executor | a person appointed to carry out the terms of their will |
| trust | the firm belief in the reliability, truth, and ability of someone or something |
| estate | the total property or real estate owned by someone |
| will | the desire or inclination of someone or a certain group |
| power of attorney | a legal document that allows someone else to act on your behalf |
| investment liquidity | how easily or quickly a security can be bought or sold |
| probate | the administration of a deceased persons will |
| personal financial planning | a person maximizes their financial resources to achieve their goals |
| estate planning | planning on how someone's assets will be distributed before they die. |
