Nathan Hale Patriotism. A spy who got caught and hung- his only regret was that he had but one life to use his country
Thomas Paine Patriotism. Wrote common sense which showed why the 13 colonies were better off without the king and Britain.
Women Patriotism. They became nurses, took the men's roles in the war and took care of business, very important.
Bunker Hill Knowledge of Land/ Geography. Americans used the geography of the hill to maintain high ground and shoot the British.
Battle of Saratoga Knowledge of Land/ Geography. King George III rerouted Howes army through the woods and used ships and made British army surrender.
Battle of Trenton Knowledge of Land/ Geography. Christmas Night, Washington lead 2,400 troops across the Delaware river. Attacked the British, and caught 1,000 Hessians.
John Paul Jones Leadership. defeated and attacked British ships, considered the father of the American Navy
Francis Marion Leadership. Taught the army how to fight in a Gorilla style warfare. Swamp fox.
Washington Leadership. Crossed the Deleware on Christmas Day. Surprising the Hessians in Trenton. Captured 1,000 Hessians and gave Americans confidence.
French Foreign Help. Lafayette, fought for the continental army, became a General in Washington's Army.
Germans Foreign Help. Baron Von Steuben. German/Prussian. Hired by and taught Washingtons army.
